Sathyan Sandeep earned his Ph.D. in Physics in 2019 from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Thiruvananthapuram, India, specializing in picosecond acoustic studies of semiconductor nano-cavities. He holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, India. From 2019 to 2023, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Le Mans University, France, focusing on nano- to microscale imaging of polycrystalline materials and material transformations using time-domain Brillouin scattering (TDBS). Starting November 2023, he holds a postdoctoral research position in Daniel Lanzillotti-Kimura’s group at the Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies (C2N) in Palaiseau, France. His current research interest is exploring the acoustic phonon dynamics in novel hybrid materials, aiming to engineer responsive and reconfigurable acoustic devices.
